National Bioindustry Base public service projects, viz. pilot production platform for herbal medicine, natural medicine formulations in Kunming has been built in Yunnan Pharmaceutical Institute. The pilot platform is the largest and leading platform in China covering all dosage forms of Chinese medicine listed in "Chinese Pharmacopoeia" (2010 edition), it will provide the public services including research and development ,the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technical consultation.
Yunnan Pharmaceutical Institute is a important institution for research and development of natural medicines. In March 2008, the platform for R&D and pilot production was started to construct in accordance with GMP. The investment is more than RMB 44 million.
The Platform is divided into 3 areas for pilot production covering more than 20 dosage forms, including osmotic pump preparations, pellets, cataplasms, aerosols, eye drops, freeze-dried powder injections, non-PVC softener transfusions.
